It was my first time to trek in Nepal and thanks to Prakash of Himalayan Discovery Trek who made this trip so enjoyable and memorable. We definitely want to come back and track with them again. Prakash gave us a friendly welcome at the Kathmandu airport and then we were off to hotel in Thamel. We decided upon the Punhill trek. We are a group of four women at 30’s. We are moderately fit and have done some easy day treks in Hong Kong once a month. Prakash reassured us we will be able to cope with and enjoy the Punhill trek. He briefed us the route and reviewed with us a checklist of what to bring. Himalayan Discovery Trek can lend the gear we need or we can buy it in Thamel, if any. It was October so the weather was nice and gentle, rain season was over. Nevertheless we still needed jackets when we got up to Punhill. Prakash knows everyone and every spot on the trek. Local people, trekkers and animals (mainly sheeps) are all very friendly. We have been very well taken care of throughout the trek. It was a five-day walk. As elementary trekkers, we felt only a little bit tired after the walk each day but never exhausted because Prakash adjusted the pace and itinerary to fit our capabilities. After the walk each day, we always rewarded ourselves with a lovely Nepali tea at the front yard of the tea house/hostel, looking at the magnificent Nepali mountains, bathing in the gentle afternoon sunshine, talking with Prakash and other trekkers and people there. That’s the best part of Himalayan Discovery Trek. Punhill is one of the easiest walk in Nepal. I do want to come back and do more challenging treks (of course after some training back home). I will go with Himalayan again because they prepared us well and exercise much care and attention even in easy trek like Punhill. I can trust them and their experience in more challenging treks.
Congratulations to Prakash Bhattarai in establishing their new company Himalayan Discovery Trek. In October of 2017 I had the pleasure of meeting these two gentlemen in Kathmandu, Nepal. For the next 21 days, as we made our way around The Annapurna Circuit, I witnessed sights that will be etched in my memory forever. Notwithstanding the incredible beauty of this truly magical land it was the involvement of Prakash and Talak that made this trek so memorable. From the beginning I felt very comfortable in their presence. As our trek progressed it became very obvious as to their knowledge and caring attitude toward those they led. Their communication was excellent and their organizational abilities were evident from the start. What started as a guide client relationship quickly changed to that of hiking with family or friends. It was an absolute joy to share my trip of a lifetime with Prakash and I would highly recommend their services.
They really warm's my heart in the so cool weather especially for an Asian girl like me. Nepal is so far the coolest country I have visited beside Japan, and of course the peoples are very warms too. I spend 3D2N on mountain trekking by the Ghandruk route. Of course the scenery is very nice, but I particular remember one spectacular view on the mountain on1st April, which is an april fool day and also a full moon night, and that night was extremely freezing... we observe and see the most beautiful and the most huge moon. It look like stands in front of me, so close to me. As it giving me the light to brighten up my mind and my soul. I believe we have already reach more than 2500ft above sea level and that why are able to view the moon so close. At that moment, I feel lightness and a sense of wanted to cherish my life on how great to live in this earth, and I can have the accompany of my travel buddy, Siew Chin and my travel guide, Prakash, my family and all the people around. To be sweat and laugh together. Since then, is my practice to send blessing whenever time is allow to mother earth nature for giving me this kind of strength. Prakash and his trekking agent has brought to me so much discovery, wonderful experience and easy time during the visit. They are the trekking agent that I will recommend, as in they are experienced, know where is the most beautiful places, which angle can capture good photos, and ready to serve you at any request. They just don't mind to be your cameraman, waiter, luggage carrier, or even "entertainer" because they are sincerely and friendly serving from their heart. Sometimes, is a need to break away from reality and this cruel world to have a short stay in the mountain. I wish I can visit the mountain again by trekking other routes someday. Great discovery and enlightement await you too! Best Regards, Hong Kee Mee Graphic Designer / Freelancer Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia I had a wonderful time and experience during my first visit to Nepal. I discovered that sincere and friendly.
