Today, we’ll explore the cultural treasures of Kathmandu. Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the ancient Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, and the impressive Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the afternoon, we’ll hold a trek briefing, discuss gear requirements, and finalize preparations. This is also a great opportunity to purchase any last-minute supplies.
After breakfast, we begin our journey with an 8-10 hour drive to Syange/Jagat. The scenic route takes us through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and along the winding banks of the Marsyangdi River. Upon arrival in Syange, we’ll settle into our lodge for the night, enjoying the tranquil mountain surroundings.
Today marks the start of our trekking adventure! We’ll trek for 7-8 hours from Syange to Dharapani. The trail winds through beautiful landscapes, including lush forests and traditional villages. As we ascend, we’ll experience the warm hospitality of the local Gurung people. Upon reaching Dharapani, settle into our lodge and enjoy a well-deserved meal.
Continuing our trek, we’ll head to Chame today, which takes about 5-6 hours. The trail is lined with stunning views of the surrounding peaks, and we’ll cross suspension bridges over the river. Chame, the administrative center of the Manang district, offers hot springs and a chance to relax in the evening after a day of hiking.
Our journey continues as we trek from Chame to Pisang. The trek will take approximately 5-6 hours and features dramatic landscapes, with the Annapurna range looming in the distance. As we approach Pisang, you’ll be captivated by the panoramic views. After settling into our lodge, take time to explore this charming village.
Today’s trek to Manang takes us through Upper Pisang, with stunning views along the way. Expect to hike for 6-7 hours, crossing varied terrain and passing through traditional villages. After acclimatizing, we’ll trek to Yak Kharka today, which takes about 3-4 hours. The trail leads us through beautiful landscapes dotted with yaks and horses. Upon arrival, take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. This peaceful setting is perfect for relaxing and preparing for the ascent to Thorong Phedi.
We’ll continue our ascent today to Thorong Phedi, which will take approximately 3-4 hours. The trek offers stunning mountain vistas, and the terrain becomes more rugged. Upon reaching Thorong Phedi, we’ll settle in at our lodge and prepare for the next day’s challenging trek over the Thorong La Pass.
Today is a significant day as we trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath, taking 7-8 hours. We’ll start early to cross the Thorong La Pass (5,416m/17,769 ft), one of the highest trekking passes in the world. The views from the pass are nothing short of spectacular. After descending, we’ll reach Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists, and spend the night here.
After breakfast, we’ll drive to Tatopani, a journey of about 6-8 hours. The drive offers incredible views of the landscape as we descend from the mountains. Tatopani is known for its natural hot springs, providing the perfect opportunity to relax and soothe tired muscles after our trek.
